Bitcoin: The Dream Of Sound Money
With blockchain/crypto/bitcoin fever gripping everyone, it's worth noting as often as possible what this whole revolution is all about. Too many are not doing even a cursory amount of homework on YouTube to figure out what's happening.
On Twitter, I saw a short thread that gets to the meat of Bitcoin's original purpose: restoration of value while diminishing the role of central banks/authorities that destroy value via their printing presses.
The dream of returning to sound money is making a comeback thanks to this wonderful technology. It's not too hard to imagine a world where your money maintains or grows its purchasing power over time. It's not too hard to imagine a world where governments can't print money to pay for insane spending like welfare + warfare way beyond what's needed.
And, of course, this isn't financial advice. Do what's right for you and don't invest a sum of money that would be catastrophic to your life if you lost it. Diversify across asset classes. There will be volatility. This is merely about educating people about the underlying fundamentals of this promising new world we can manifest.
No one knows where this new technology will lead or even if Bitcoin will be there as a daily transactional currency or as a digital store of value while other coins do the work. Yet, the fuse is lit. An era of freedom and value isn't too far off.
I'll be dealing with the Federal Reserve and its mismanagement of the dollar in my upcoming sci-fi action thriller book.
If you're buying into Bitcoin (or other coins with its properties), please read and reflect on the thread below.
