That Time The Left Danced On Its Own Grave
If you squint hard enough, you can just barely see Democrats and Hollywood celebs dancing on top of that collapsing building. That building, naturally, is Obamacare.
I, for one, don’t understand all the gloating. Many on the left that I see on Twitter or in TV clips or I speak to on the street are always stating that Obamacare NEEDS to be fixed. Not, “oh wouldn’t it be nice if we could tinker with it,” but more like, “this thing’s gonna blow sky high if something isn’t done fast. Quick! Call for help!”
There’s just one problem. The left has exactly no power to fix it and Obamacare is set to collapse sometime around 2017–2018.
Rather than pass the wildly awful corporatist giveaway (aka American Health Care Act), the House of Representatives effectively decided it’s better to let Obamacare implode than pass globalist Paul Ryan’s mess.
Depsite their repeated denials, the Democrats own Obamacare. Yes, GOP congresses continued to fund it, but that’s not a detail people on the street will debate, nor is it a particularly salient point because Obama was in the Oval Office to vetoe any real attempt at reform anyway.
When it reaches a tipping point of inflicting enough pain on enough people, Democrats will be begging to make a deal. President Trump and the Republican-controlled Congress will, therefore, have a strengthened hand to play. Paul Ryan tried it his way and came up way short, thankfully.
Here’s some more views on this that are in the same ballpark:
Not to be forgotten. An object of fear and scorn for the left — the Keystone XL pipeline — finally won approval after many years of being stonewalled. Ha! It’s hard being the left today.
Someone should really tell Kal Penn to delete this. The health care game’s not over yet and it’s bad luck celebrate before it is.
