In the wake of President-elect Donald Trump’s meeting spearheaded by Peter Thiel with Big Tech’s leaders at Trump Tower, I caught some tweets from Apple exec Michael Jurewitz (@Jury) that were of interest to me. I wasn’t going to write about this until I read an excellent Got News story written by Chuck Johnson regarding the tiny minority of Silicon Valley Trump supporters and the fearful plight they find themselves in.
So, I wanted to see if I could strike up a conversation with Michael Jurewitz. He had just bragged about how proud he was to work on Apple’s ugly, space nerd earrings (aka AirPods). In fact, Twitter featured his tweet in a Twitter moment about the AirPod release after a serious delay caused the product to miss the holiday shopping window for many.
We know this delay would never have happened under Steve Jobs. It’s no secret that Apple has placed social justice ahead of making insanely great products under Tim Cook…and it shows.
Aside from hallucinating hard about Trump’s efforts to drain the swamp of the bureaucrats anyone with a brain would like to fire, Michael Jurewitz also won’t answer one very important question about what happens to open Trump supporters employed by Apple.
What follows is my brief exchange. The days of not being able to speak freely on political matters at these companies are numbered…thanks to Trump and all of the Deplorables.
P.S. After interacting with Michael Jurewitz today, I am no longer able to sign into my Apple TV, and only my Apple TV. Weird.
